Intelligence of Light
As part of the so-called Intelligence of Light, ewo, with its connexx brand and the Leitfeld software developed in-house, takes care of smart solutions that connect the luminaires to the Internet of Things.
Scenarios
Smart lighting allows lighting systems to adapt to the seasons, weather conditions and occupancy density. Using different lighting scenarios, the system automatically adjusts the intensity, color and direction of the light to specific needs and thus creates the desired mood. Different luminaires can be grouped together to illuminate squares, streets and sidewalks in any desired pattern.

The 3 Levels
Basically, the intelligence of the lights can be divided into three levels:

1. Luminaire level
The luminaires react individually (e.g. via sensors) to signals and are not linked to each other.

2. Group level
The different luminaires communicate with each other—e.g. the sensor of one luminaire can trigger a reaction from another.

3. Cloud level
Individual luminaires or groupings can not only be set locally but can also be controlled via software.
Sensors
Using specific sensors, people, animals and vehicles can be detected by intelligent luminaires and their light intensity adjusted accordingly. This technology makes smart lighting particularly interesting for cycle paths or parking garages, for example, where the lighting density can follow the presence of people. As soon as the sensor-equipped luminaire has been passed, it can be dimmed in stages, for example. This can also result in considerable energy savings.
connexx
connexx was founded in 2017. The brand focuses on smart systems ranging from intelligent lighting to smart cities. The goal? To create a city in which residents always feel comfortable, safe and, above all, connected.

Leitfeld
Leitfeld is an open IoT platform developed by ewo's connexx brand that can collect and control data from different nodes and sensors in order to react or perform an analysis within seconds. It makes it possible to visualize a lighting system, set rules for different groups or individual luminaires, change their behavior in real time for events and optimize power consumption.
